Member Engagement Lead

Position overview
The Member Engagement Lead is responsible for creating a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging environment for BLK TLK members. This individual focuses on relationship development, participation, retention, and ensuring members feel genuinely connected to the organization.
Key responsibilities
Member Engagement & Retention
- Serve as a primary point of contact for new and existing members.
- Develop strategies to increase member participation and retention.
- Welcome and onboard new members.
- Maintain consistent member communication.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen relationships.
Member Experience
- Create networking and connection initiatives.
- Develop member appreciation and recognition opportunities.
- Gather feedback through surveys and conversations.
- Communicate member concerns to the Area Director.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive environment.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Collaborate with other chapter leadership leads.
- Support engagement during events.
- Attend leadership meetings and provide updates.
- Assist with initiatives supporting chapter growth.
Preferred qualifications
Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Passion for community building, dependable follow-through, and the ability to engage people from diverse backgrounds. Previous leadership, customer service, or community engagement experience is preferred but not required.
Performance expectations
- Develop at least one member engagement initiative per quarter.
- Maintain a consistent new-member welcome process.
- Support member outreach and follow-up.
- Collect member feedback quarterly.
- Provide monthly engagement updates.
Measures of success
Member participation, retention, feedback, onboarding effectiveness, and communication consistency.
