OUR STORY / EST. 2020
We all need people.Find yours here.
BLK TLK started with a simple belief: life is better when you have the right people around you. We’re building spaces where real connections happen, new experiences begin, and everyone has room to belong.
HOW IT STARTED
A simple idea.
A bigger community.
Founded on August 24, 2020, by Khalil J. Cobb, BLK TLK began with a simple idea: create a space where people could show up as themselves, meet new people, and build genuine connections.
What started as an opportunity to bring people together has grown into a collective shaped by friendships, shared experiences, travel, community service, and the belief that everyone deserves a place to belong.
Today, BLK TLK is growing across Charlotte and Houston, bringing people together through experiences that turn introductions into friendships and friendships into community.
We started with connection.
We’re building something bigger.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
Good people.
Real connections.
More life.
We’re not here to collect followers or fill a room. We’re here to build the kind of community that makes people want to show up, get involved, and bring somebody else along.
- 01
Show up.
The best connections start when you decide to be present. Come as you are, get involved, and be open to something new.
- 02
Find your people.
Real community is built through genuine relationships. We make space for friendships, collaboration, and connections that extend beyond an event.
- 03
Make memories.
From social gatherings and travel to new adventures and shared milestones, we’re creating experiences worth remembering.
- 04
Make room for more.
Community grows when people feel welcome. We lead with inclusion, celebrate one another, and create opportunities to give back.
WHAT BRINGS US TOGETHER
More than events.
More than networking.
Some connections happen over dinner. Others happen on a trip, during a community project, or through a conversation you didn’t expect. However it starts, BLK TLK creates more opportunities for people to connect and grow together.
THE PEOPLE BEHIND IT
Built by people.
For people.
Behind every gathering, connection, and new opportunity is a team committed to bringing the BLK TLK vision to life.

THE REAL STORY
It’s the people
who make it BLK TLK.
The best part of BLK TLK isn’t a logo, a location, or an event. It’s the people who show up, welcome someone new, and make every experience their own.
Good people.Great memories. There’s room for you.
New city? New chapter? Just looking for your people? Wherever you’re starting from, there’s a place for you here.
