Community Relations & Partnerships Lead

Position overview
Responsible for expanding BLK TLK’s community presence through strategic partnerships, outreach, sponsorship opportunities, and community service initiatives. This individual represents BLK TLK while developing relationships with businesses, nonprofit organizations, community leaders, and mission-aligned organizations.
Key responsibilities
Community Relations
- Build relationships with businesses, organizations, and community leaders.
- Identify community involvement opportunities.
- Represent BLK TLK at networking events.
- Strengthen organizational visibility.
- Identify collaboration opportunities.
Partnership Development
- Research and pursue partnerships and sponsorships.
- Develop mutually beneficial relationships.
- Coordinate opportunities supporting events and initiatives.
- Maintain existing partner relationships.
- Track outreach, commitments, and results.
Community Impact
- Identify local volunteer opportunities.
- Coordinate community service initiatives with the Area Director.
- Encourage member participation.
- Support local businesses and organizations.
- Expand BLK TLK’s presence beyond social programming.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Partner with the Events & Experiences Lead.
- Collaborate with Member Engagement.
- Report partnership progress at leadership meetings.
- Obtain Area Director approval before organizational commitments.
Preferred qualifications
Strong networking, communication, professionalism, relationship management, and follow-through skills. Experience in nonprofit leadership, business development, sponsorships, or community relations is preferred but not required.
Performance expectations
- Contact at least three potential community partners quarterly.
- Support at least one new partnership each quarter.
- Support one community service initiative per quarter.
- Maintain partnership records.
- Provide monthly outreach updates.
Measures of success
New partnerships, active partnerships, community participation, sponsorship contributions, organizational visibility, and successful service initiatives.
